1. IDS Solicitors (‘the firm’), is a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 14123567

Its registered office is at 315 High Road, IIford, England,IG1 1NR and this is also its principal place of business.

IDS Solicitors is a recognised body law practice, authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) under SRA identity number 8001785. Mr Iqbal Deep Singh the Data Protection Director and Partner responsible for data protection matters.

2. The UK is committed to maintaining standards of data protection and the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is incorporated into UK law (the UK GDPR) alongside the Data Protection Act 2018.

This is notice to you that IDS  Solicitors will be handling the data you have provided to us and all further and subsequent data received from you, your advisers, third parties, financial institutions and government bodies, for the purpose of carrying out your instructions and doing work for you on the legal and professional matters for which you have engaged IDS  Solicitors.

3. The data that will be collected and used will include whatever personal information is received and this can include matters relating to your integrity, your health, your banking and financial matters, your family and children, civil and criminal legal matters and anything necessary to deliver our services as Solicitors within the law.

4. IDS Solicitors will gather, process and retain data in accordance with the attached Data and File Retention Policies.

5. You have the right to withdraw your consent to us keeping and processing your personal data but should be aware that the withdrawal of your consent may make it impossible for us to continue as Solicitors and there may be consequences for any transaction or legal case in which you are participating. It is important that you raise concerns to redefine the limits of your consent.

6. Our conduct of your affairs is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. This extends to the protection of personal data. We do not conduct automated processing of data collected remotely, but in order to assist us in verification of identity and insolvency, we will use electronic means to make checks as to your identity and any history of insolvency.

7. Except as mentioned in paragraph 9 below, we have no expectation of sending any data outside of the United Kingdom for our purposes or conducting the business of IDS  Solicitors in a foreign jurisdiction, but on your instructions, we will send your personal data to other people, businesses and banks who may be wholly or partly overseas.

8. There may on some occasions be use made of applications, used by lawyers, that are cloud based or web based and whose architecture may include computer servers in the Republic of Ireland or EU countries, such as systems for searching for companies, people and properties to identify their histories, or to access published legislation, or law reports, or to bundle litigation documents in your legal cases. In addition, it is not possible for IDS  Solicitors to know whether the third parties and financial institutions with whom you wish to communicate or transact are honest and will guarantee the protection of your data. As Solicitors, we shall conduct ourselves professionally but cannot eliminate all risks of cyber-crime, identity theft or theft of your personal data by third parties or systems that are not in the direct control and management of IDS  Solicitors. We act on your instructions but at your risk.

9. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your Data is treated securely and in accordance with UK Data Protection law.

All information that you provide to us is stored on our secure servers. The Data that we collect from you will be transferred to, and stored at, a destination inside the European Economic Area (“EEA”) or any transfer of Data outside the EEA will be made to those states which the European Commission has deemed to have adequate data security protection or which are otherwise permitted under UK Data Protection law.

Unfortunately the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your Data, we cannot guarantee the security of your Data transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
